First-Time Setup
What a Jira administrator needs to do to get HubSpot for Jira working after installing it. Allow around fifteen minutes.
Upgrading from an earlier version of the app rather than installing it fresh? Your configuration is carried over automatically. See Migrating from Connect to Forge instead.
Before you start
Jira administrator access
A HubSpot account, and credentials for the portal you want to connect
The Jira user groups that should be allowed to view and to edit HubSpot data
Step 1: Connect your HubSpot portal
Go to Jira settings → Apps → HubSpot CRM Configuration.
On the General tab, select Create Connection.
Sign in to HubSpot and authorise the app.
Confirm that the portal shown under Connection Details is the one you intended. One Jira site connects to one HubSpot portal.
Step 2: Configure View Permissions
Open the View Permissions tab.
Under Specify Groups, select the user groups allowed to use the integration.
Under Specify Spaces, choose the Jira spaces in scope. Leave it empty for no restriction.
Select the Jira fields to show in HubSpot, and the HubSpot properties to show in Jira.
Step 3: Configure Write Permissions
Open the Write Permissions tab.
Select the groups allowed to create HubSpot records, and to create or update Jira work items.
Choose which Jira fields those users can edit, and which HubSpot properties they can set when creating a record.
The setup prompt clears once both permission tabs are configured.
Step 4: Check it works
Open any Jira work item.
In the button row under the work item title, select View app actions, then HubSpot CRM.
Link a HubSpot record and confirm it appears.
Optional steps
Reporting. Add the four HubSpot count fields to your work item layouts, then run Synchronize Data to populate them.
Automation. Create rules to link or create records automatically.
