Overview

Out of Office Assistant includes intelligent mention detection and Auto Reply functionality that helps team members identify when mentioned colleagues are unavailable and ensures appropriate coverage. This feature automatically adds contextual tags to @ mentions and provides automated responses when comments are assigned to users who are out of office.

Mention Tag Functionality

How Mention Tags Work:

  • Automatic Detection: System monitors based on active Out of Office rules all @ mentions in comments and descriptions

  • Absence Status Check: Verifies if mentioned user has active or upcoming absence rules

  • Contextual Tagging: Adds informative tags next to @ mentions indicating absence status

  • Advance Warning: Shows tags for users who will be out of office soon (configurable timing)

Mention Detection Triggers

When Mention Tags Appear:

  1. Tag Display Conditions:

  3. βœ… User will be out of office soon β†’ Advance warning tag
  4. βœ… User returns within configured timeframe β†’ Return date shown

Tag Timing Configuration:

  • Default Advance Notice: 4 days before absence starts

  • Rule-Based Display: Based on individual rule configurations

  • Active Period Display: Throughout entire absence duration

  • Return Information: Includes expected return date when available
