You can now create out-of-office rules with specific start and end times directly in the Jira UI - no integration required!

Key Features

Partial-Day Absences Set exact hours for your absence:

• Morning appointments (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

• Afternoon meetings (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

• Multi-day absences with specific times

Smart Time Display

• Short absences (0-3 days): Shows specific times

• Long absences (4+ days): Shows dates only

Timezone Support Select your timezone when creating rules to ensure accurate scheduling across global teams. Look for the 🌍 icon on time-based rules.

Flexible Time Selection 24-hour time picker with flexible increments to match your exact schedule.

How to Use

1. Navigate to Out-of-Office Assistant

2. Click Create Rule

3. Select start/end dates and times

4. Choose timezone if prompted

5. Configure other details and submit

Note: Previously, time-based rules were only available through Tempo Timesheets or Google Calendar integrations. This extends that capability to all manual rules.
