Updates After the Forge Release (3.17.0)

Release Date: 2026-10-19

This note covers everything released for Out of Office Assistant after the move to Atlassian Forge on 31 August 2026, up to and including version 3.17.0. It adds site-wide Slack and Google Workspace integrations, the Administration tab and Help menu, and customer groups for Jira Service Management, plus a set of fixes. What changed with the move itself is on Out of Office on Atlassian Forge.

No action needed for existing setups. If customers with an Atlassian account need out of office rules, choose their groups as described under Customer Groups for Jira Service Management.

New Features

Administration Tab and Help Menu

Site-wide settings are on the Administration tab, which only Jira admins see. The Help button in the app header replaces the Support tab and holds Contact us, Book a Free Meeting and Documentation. See Interface Tour and Navigation Guide.

Global Slack Integration

A Jira admin can connect Slack once for the whole site under Administration > Global Integrations, so users do not connect it themselves. Each user can still add their own Slack status emoji. See Slack Integration for Out of Office Assistant.

Google Workspace Global Integration

A Jira admin can connect Google Workspace for the whole site under Administration > Global Integrations, using domain-wide delegation. The setup checks the connection before it is active. See Google Workspace Global Integration.

Personal Integrations Setting

Under Administration > Personal Integrations, a Jira admin chooses which personal integrations users can set up. Users who already have one keep it, and it keeps working.

Customer Groups for Jira Service Management

Under Administration > General Settings > Service Management > Customers, choose Portal-only customers, Members of these groups, or both. Customers with an Atlassian account can now have out of office rules too. See Creating Out of Office Rules for JSM Customers.

Faster Assignee Panel on Work Items

The app's panel on a work item shows up to five available assignees and a search box to find anyone else who can be assigned. See Issue Context Assignment and Availability Display.

  • Fixed the mention tag showing the start date of an absence as its end date.

  • Fixed templates not saving the Mention Tag choice.

  • Fixed the reassignment log showing no work item details for rules with more than 50 entries.
