What size of License do I need for your Plugin?

Answer

Confluence/Bitbucket

Purchase the license tier that matches the number of users you have licensed for your host application. For example, if you have a 25-user Confluence/Bitbucket license, purchase the Confluence add-on at the 25-user tier. The add-on will only function if its license matches or exceeds the tier of the host application – even if only some of your licensed users need to use the add-on.

Jira

Here it get's a bit more complicated.

For Jira, you must purchase the add-on license that matches the highest Jira application tier. For example, if you have a 500-User Jira Software license, and a 20-Agent Jira Service Management license, your Jira add-ons must be at the 500-User level.

A special note for Jira Service Management (JSM). Service Desk Customers do not count into License at all. Customers are unlicensed users who send requests to your service project through the portal, email, or widget. For example, employees who raise requests to an internal service desk will have access to the portal with no product access to the project are usually internal customers (see https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/what-users-and-roles-are-there-in-jira-service-management/#Service-Desk-Customers ).

So for example ... if you have a 10 Agent and 700 Users using the Portal only (Service Desk Customers), you only need a 10 User License of our Plugin.

Another mixed example. If you have 10 Agent & 100 User Jira Core Users as well as 600 Portal only Users (Service Desk Customers) ... you need a 100 User Version of our plugin ... as it's the "highest Jira Application tier (see Quote above).

Bamboo

Bamboo pricing tiers are based on agents, or "build slaves", rather than users. The more agents, the more processes can run concurrently – either steps in the same build, or different builds. Purchase the license tier that matches the number of remote agents of your Bamboo host application. For example, if you have a 10 remote agents license, purchase the Bamboo add-on at the 10 remote agents tier.
