Using the Service Desk App on Main, Shareable, and Private Boards

The Service Desk App works across all three board types in monday.com: main, shareable, and private. However, access requirements for the Service User vary slightly depending on the board type.

Main and Shareable Boards

  • No special permissions are required by default.

  • The Service User does not need to be invited to the board.

  • The app can create and update tickets as long as the board is accessible and there are no restricted columns.

  • If you use restricted columns, the Service User must be invited to the board and also be made a board owner.

Private Boards

  • The Service User must be explicitly invited to the board to function properly.

  • If the Service User is not invited, ticket creation and updates will fail and return an error.

  • If you use restricted columns, the Service User must also be made a board owner.
