Users
The Users tab in Settings controls who participates in a stream and what role each person holds. Each stream manages its own user list independently, so the same person can have different roles in different streams.
Only Scrum Masters and Coverers can access this tab. For a full breakdown of what each role can do, see User Roles & Permissions.

Roles Overview
Each user in a stream has one of three roles:
Role | Can Prepare Updates | Can Start/End Meetings | Can Change Settings | Can Delete Stream |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Scrum Master | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Coverer | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
Participant | Yes | No | No | No |
A user can hold different roles across different streams. Roles cannot be changed during a live meeting - end the meeting first, then adjust roles here.
Managing Scrum Masters and Coverers
At the top of the Users tab, two fields control the leadership roles for the stream:
Scrum Master - Each stream has exactly one Scrum Master. Type a name in the search field and select the user from the dropdown. The Scrum Master can start and end meetings, configure all settings, and delete the stream.
Scrum Master Coverers - A stream can have multiple Coverers. They share the same live-meeting rights as the Scrum Master (start/end meetings, add and reorder items) but cannot delete the stream.
To remove a user from either field, click the x next to their name.
Managing Participants
Below the role assignments, a list shows all Jira users available for this stream. Each user has a checkbox:
Add a participant - Check the box next to the user's name.
Remove a participant - Uncheck the box.
User not listed? - Click the Add Users button to search for users who are not shown in the default list.
Users assigned as Scrum Master or Coverer appear in the list with a disabled (greyed-out) checkbox because they are automatically included as participants.

No users showing?
If no users appear in the participant list, check that the Jira board linked to this stream has projects with active users in its filter. The participant list is populated from the board's project members. See Getting Started for board setup details.
Saving Changes
After making changes to roles or participants, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Changes take effect immediately for the next meeting. There is no auto-save - unsaved changes are lost if you navigate away.
