Important Update Effective February 1, 2024!
Due to recent changes in Jira and Confluence, we've made the tough decision to discontinue the OpenID Connect (OIDC)/OAuth app and no longer provide new versions for the newest Jira/Confluence releases as of January 31, 2024.
This is due to some necessary components no longer shipping with Jira/Confluence, which would require some extensive rewrites of the OIDC App.

Migrate before updating to a newer Jira or Confluence version
Due to recent changes in Jira and Confluence, which no longer ship with some components required for the OpenID Connect (OIDC)/OAuth app to run, we've made the tough decision to discontinue the app and will no longer provide new versions compatible with newer Jira/confluence releases as of February 1, 2024.
We highly recommend migrating to resolution’s SAML SSO apps under the discounted scheme before updating to a new version of Jira or Confluence.
Why SAML SSO if I’m authenticating with OIDC?
The entire capabilities of the OIDC app were integrated in our flagship SAML Single Sign On apps, which have a 100x larger installation base and a far superior feature set. In practice, any OIDC customer can reproduce its current configuration in SAML Single Sign On, and still find abundant opportunities to create additional value, for example by automating group and user provisioning.
Therefore we believe that you will be better served from both a support & security perspective if we help you transition over to our SAML Single Sign On app.
You can find detailed information on how to configure the SAML Single Sign On apps in our Knowledge Base, including step-by step guides for the OpenID Connect protocol below each of the main Identity Providers (Azure AD / Entra, Google Cloud Identity, Okta).
What are the next steps?
We are currently in the process of reaching out to every customer/partner with an active license and informing them about these changes. Please reach out to us via our Support Portal to establish communication with us in case you have not received any notifications yet, and we will start working on the best transition path for you.
Our Commitment to a Smooth Transition:
We understand that asking you to migrate between apps puts an additional burden on you.
To lighten that a bit we offer:
Free Migration Support: Our team is on standby to assist you in transitioning with ease.
No financial disadvantage: We’ll provide you with a new license for the SAML App that extends over your current license term. On renewal we’ll provide you with a discount that will make up the price difference between the SAML and the OIDC Apps.
Urgency and Timeline
There is no immediate urgency to react, as we will still support all existing versions of the OIDC app.
However, you must complete your migration to our SAML SSO app before upgrading your Jira/Confluence to the newest versions, as the OIDC app may stop working.
