Important Update Effective February 1, 2024!
Due to recent changes in Jira and Confluence, we've made the tough decision to discontinue the OpenID Connect (OIDC)/OAuth app and no longer provide new versions for the newest Jira/Confluence releases as of January 31, 2024.
This is due to some necessary components no longer shipping with Jira/Confluence, which would require some extensive rewrites of the OIDC App.
Set up Site Search Analytics
In order for your visitors' Confluence search queries to appear in your Google Analytics Console, you'll have to perform the following settings in your Google Analytics Admin Console:
- For the Universal Analytics property, open the site search settings (described on https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012264?hl=en) and set the following setup:
Query parameter: text
Strip query parameters: Checked
Site search categories: On
Category parameter: ancestor,contributors,labels,spaces,type
After the changes are in effect, you should see site search results in your Google Analytics Console. Note that due to the latency in Google Analytics, this may take up to a couple of hours.
- If you are using GA4, site search is automatically tracked as view_search_results event with parameters. To see the search term and the category parameters in your reports, you have to create custom dimensions for them (See https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10075209?hl=en). Create a custom dimension for each:
Event parameter: searchTerm
Event parameter: text_ancestor
Event parameter: text_contributors
Event parameter: text_labels
Event parameter: text_spaces
Event parameter: text_type
You can see the site search events with the categories in the realtime view, but in your event report, you will see a value of "not set" for a custom dimension during the first 48 hours after its creation.
