Due to recent changes in Jira and Confluence, we've made the tough decision to discontinue the OpenID Connect (OIDC)/OAuth app and no longer provide new versions for the newest Jira/Confluence releases as of January 31, 2024.

How do I assign a Scrum Master in the NASA app?
Find "Scrum Master" from the "Users" tab, under "Settings". Start typing the name of the Jira user you want to set as the Scrum Master, then click on their name to select them.
What are the steps to add a Coverer for the Scrum Master in NASA?
Click on "Coverers" from the "Users" tab, under "Settings" and start typing the name of the Jira user you want to set as a Coverer, then select their name.
How can I add Participants to my NASA standup stream?
To add Participants, click on "Add Users" from the "Meeting Participants" section which can be found under the "Users" tab, within the app "Settings".
How are user roles determined and set within NASA?
User roles are set by selecting individuals for the positions of Scrum Master, Coverers, and Participants through the app interface.
Can roles change after setting up a standup stream, and how is that process managed?
Yes, roles can be manually changed from the "Users" tab, within the app's "Settings".
Are there any specific requirements for users to be eligible for assignment as a Scrum Master or Coverer?
No, there are no special requirements needed. The Scrum Master or Coverer is selected by the person creating the new standup stream.
What happens if the assigned Scrum Master is unavailable for the standup meeting?
When configuring new standup stream you select "Coverers" to cover the Scrum Master when they are unavailable - Coverers have the permissions to start, lead and end standup meetings.
Can users volunteer for the Scrum Master role within the NASA app, or must they be assigned?
No, users cannot volunteer for the Scrum Master role, they need to be "Coverers" to handle the Scrum Master's permissions.
Are there specific permissions needed to assign someone as Coverer or Scrum Master in NASA?
No, any Jira Cloud users can be selected as either a Scrum Master or Coverer.
Can a user act as both Participant and Coverer in the same standup within NASA?
Yes, a Coverer can also be a Participant during a standup meeting.
If a Participant is consistently absent, is there a process in NASA to automatically change their role?
No, there is no automation for changing user's permissions based on their availability.
How are new team members added to the NASA app, and how are their roles determined?
All users and user roles must be manually configured to the dedicated standup streams.
Can user roles be bulk edited, or does each role require individual attention within NASA?
No, there is no bulk edit for user roles, it needs to be individually configured.
How should the app be configured if the team operates without a Scrum Master?
If the team operates without a dedicated Scrum Master, the team lead can be assigned the role of "Scrum Master", while the rest of the team can be made coverers to ensure everyone has the same permissions.
What training or support does NASA provide for users taking on new roles like Scrum Master?
The NASA app does not provide in-app training, however, users can watch the NASA tutorial video for more information, or reach out to support for any support assistance.
Are user role assignments in NASA persistent across sprints or do they reset each time?
User roles are set permanently unless manually changed. User roles do not reset at the start of each new sprint.
How do Coverers know when it is their turn to step in for the Scrum Master in NASA?
All participants are placed in a lobby before the actual standup meeting starts, here Coverers can see if they need to start and lead the meeting based on whether the Scrum Master is present or not.

No, no user role automation is available within the NASA app.

No, there aren't any built-in notifications or reminders for users regarding their user roles.
Can users decline assigned roles, and what is the impact on the standup session in NASA?
Users cannot decline their assigned user roles in-app, if users do agree with their user roles, they need to take it up with the Scrum Master or Administrator to manually apply any needed changes.
Can a user occupy multiple roles within different streams in NASA, and how is this managed?
Yes, a user can have multiple roles within different streams, this is managed within the individual configuration of each standup stream.
Is it possible to change user roles mid-meeting in the NASA app, and what would be the reason for doing so?
No, user roles cannot be changed mid-meeting. User roles can only be changed before or after live standup meetings.
